Nicholas Tessener

Nicholas “Nick” Tessener is a Raleigh, North Carolina attorney whose practice focuses on civil litigation. Born and raised in Raleigh, Nick is deeply connected to the community he serves and is committed to advocating for individuals and families throughout North Carolina.

Nick attended Millbrook High in Raleigh, where he was a three-sport athlete and served as Captain of both the football and wrestling teams. After high school, he continued his football career at Lycoming College, where he earned his undergraduate degree while competing as a collegiate athlete.

He returned home to attend Campbell Law School, where he developed a passion for litigation and trial advocacy. During law school, he expanded his legal studies internationally, studying human rights and human dignity in Ghana. He also studied trial advocacy at the Academy of the Advocate program in St Andrews alongside Baylor University, focusing on litigation strategy and courtroom practice.

Inspired by his father’s work as a personal injury attorney, Nick pursued a legal career with the goal of helping people in the same community where he was raised. Although he has traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad, visiting 44 states and more than a dozen countries, Nick chose to build both his career and family life in Raleigh.

In addition to his legal practice, Nick has remained active in civic and community service. He was appointed by the North Carolina Secretary of State to serve on the North Carolina House Select Committee on Community Relations, Law Enforcement, and Justice as a community leader and voice on issues involving law enforcement, justice, and community relations.

Nick and his wife, whom he met while attending law school, are actively involved with several local nonprofit organizations. Outside of the office, Nick enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends, and taking advantage of everything the Raleigh community has to offer.
