Jacob represents clients in matters involving personal injury, wrongful death, and employment law. He regularly appears in both state and federal courts throughout the state of North Carolina.

Jacob is a trial lawyer who helps victims of negligence and wrongdoing in all aspects of litigation, including negotiation, mediation, discovery, arbitration, and trial. As a plaintiff’s lawyer, Jacob assists individuals and their families navigate a variety of difficult circumstances, including vehicular and catastrophic injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and workplace injury. Jacob also counsels clients through employment discrimination cases and labor law disputes.
Jacob’s litigation experience includes representing clients in United States District Courts, North Carolina trial courts, federal and state regulatory investigations, and American Arbitration Association proceedings.
Prior to joining Miller Law Group, Jacob was a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group at a large regional law firm in Raleigh, NC, where he focused on business-related civil litigation. Some of Jacob’s prior experience includes representing a multinational waste management corporation in defense of a class action lawsuit, representing a laboratory software manufacturer against claims of tortious conduct, and assisting family members achieve a favorable settlement after facing accusations of misappropriation of large sums of minor settlement funds.
Jacob graduated cum laude from Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, where he was the inaugural recipient of the Leadership Scholar Award (now the Leary and Joy Davis Leadership Scholarship), a full-tuition scholarship that recognizes students with the potential to become leaders in the law. During law school, Jacob was a member of Campbell Law School’s national mock trial team, where he earned more individual trial advocacy awards than any other student in Campbell Law School history. Jacob won the national championship title at the 2017 Top Gun National Mock Trial Competition in Waco, Texas, the Best Advocate of the Championship Round awards at both the 2016 and 2017 South Texas Mock Trial Competitions in Houston, Texas, as well as the Best Advocate of the Final Round award at the 2016 National Civil Trial Competition in Santa Monica, California. In addition to his individual achievements, Jacob and his teammates were twice named national champions and earned three tournament second-place finishes.
Upon graduation from law school, Jacob was inducted into the Order of the Barristers and was awarded the Robert A. Jenkins Award, which recognizes one student in each graduating class whose work in competitions and academia best represents Campbell School of Law to the community, the profession, and the public. Jacob regularly coaches Campbell Law School national mock trial teams, and he has coached student advocates to national championships in Los Angeles, California and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also maintains an active case load of pro bono matters for clients who would not otherwise have adequate access to legal representation, including through membership on Legal Aid of North Carolina’s volunteer attorney registry.
Prior to attending law school, Jacob earned a Bachelor of Arts in both Public Policy and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he served as Vice President of the Student Body and Chairperson of the Student Advisory Committee to the Chancellor. He is a founding member of the Alpha of North Carolina chapter of The Sigma Phi Society and serves as Chairman of its Alumni Corporation’s Board of Directors.
