Butch Bowers

Butch Bowers, of counsel with Miller Law Group, represents businesses, senior elected officials, government agencies, political campaigns, and advocacy organizations. He also advises clients on their litigation matters, legislative and regulatory issues, and crisis management strategies.

His innovative problem-solving approach, strategic thinking, and reliable legal advice is what makes Butch the go-to lawyer in his area of practice.  Butch licensed in South Carolina and Washington D.C. He regularly appears in state and federal courts in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Washington, DC and before legislative, regulatory, and law enforcement authorities in significant, high-visibility matters.

Butch also currently serves as the Vice Wing Commander of the 169th Fighter Wing, South Carolina Air National Guard (SCANG). He is the State Staff Judge Advocate for the SCANG and holds the federally-recognized rank of Colonel. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General School, Judge Advocate Staff Officer Course; the U.S. Air Force Squadron Officer School, by correspondence; the U.S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College, by correspondence; and the U.S Air Force Air War College, by correspondence.

Although Butch is saluted as a Colonel by some, his favorite titles are Husband to his wife Julie, and Dad to his four children: Kale, William, Mary Evelyn, and Virginia. When he not working on civilian or military matters (which is rare), Butch enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. He also enjoys running, tennis, bird hunting, Gamecock athletics, and good bourbon. The Bowers family resides in Columbia, S.C.
