Butch Bowers

Butch also currently serves in the 169th Fighter Wing, South Carolina Air National Guard (SCANG). He is the Assistant Adjutant General, Air, for SCANG and holds the federally recognized rank of Brigadier General. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General School, Judge Advocate Staff Officer Course; the U.S. Air Force Squadron Officer School, by correspondence; the U.S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College, by correspondence; and the U.S. Air Force Air War College, by correspondence.

Although Butch Bowers is saluted as a General, his favorite titles are Husband to his wife Julie and Dad to his four children: Kale, William, Mary Evelyn, and Virginia. When he’s not working on legal or military matters (which is rare), Butch spends time outdoors with his family. He also enjoys running, tennis, bird hunting, Gamecock athletics, and good bourbon.
