Learn More About Blake Boyd

Blake is a dedicated legal professional who brings a wealth of experience to Miller Law Group from his previous position as an Assistant District Attorney. He makes each case personal and is willing to analyze and use every detail to reach a favorable outcome.

Blake is originally from Rocky Mount, North Carolina. However, he has spent much time in the Triangle area and currently lives in Raleigh. Before law school, he attended North Carolina State University, where he cheered on the Wolfpack. At NC State, Blake graduated Summa Cum Laude in three years with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. After graduating from NC State, he went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, where he focused on becoming a trial attorney. In pursuit of his goal, he became a member of the Holderness Moot Court Arbitration Team and a competitor in the Kilpatrick Townsend Mock Trial.

While in law school, Blake gained invaluable experience through various legal internships.  He interned at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina, the Alamance County District Attorney’s Office, the Wake County District Attorney’s Office, and the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office in the Medicaid Investigations Division. While interning, Blake enhanced his skills and worked toward becoming a trial attorney by performing multiple trials and motion hearings, completing appellate briefs, and conducting in-depth legal research. Each internship allowed Blake to become a great litigator by completing complex civil and criminal projects for the United States Government and the State of North Carolina.

After graduating from law school, Blake began his legal career by serving as an Assistant District Attorney for Wake County. There, Blake handled cases in both District and Superior courts. While at the Wake County District Attorney’s Office, he mainly specialized in driving while impaired and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle cases. Blake took hundreds of cases to trial as an Assistant District Attorney and represented the State in even more pre-trial motions. Also, as an Assistant District Attorney, he sharpened his skills by negotiating plea bargains, researching legal issues, reviewing discovery, prepping witnesses, and considering the wishes of many victims and victims’ families.

In addition to his legal expertise, Blake is a licensed private pilot, showcasing his diverse knowledge and commitment to continuous learning. In his free time, Blake enjoys attending NC State games and playing pickleball. You may spot Blake playing pickleball at one of the many parks in Raleigh on any given evening.
