2 North Carolina Teens Killed when 16-year-old Flips Vehicle

The male driver told troopers he was temporarily blinded when the wind blew hair into his eyes. The teen’s vehicle veered off the road into a copse of trees before flipping over onto its roof.

Speed allegedly played a role in the fatal crash. The driver was charged with death by motor vehicle, careless and reckless driving, a driver’s license violation — for having too many passengers in the vehicle — and a child restraint violation. The 15-year-old girl was not wearing a seat belt.
